Time For A Change

 Dear Parents/Guardians:

 In today’s day and age we have all forgotten what it’s like to know you can count on someone being there to cover your back.  We need to go back to how it was instead of how it is.  It takes a whole village to raise a child.  You need to look out for mine –as I look out for yours. That’s what the Parent-To-Parent Coalition (PTP) is all about.  We are parents who are getting back to the basics.  Our children are the most important things in this world and we need to honor them in that fashion.  We need you as their parent/guardian to change the way we think about middle school.  Our children need us to be actively participating in their everyday activities.  We need volunteers to come in and interact with the students, if only to meet and greet in the morning before you go to work.  This will show our children that we care.  We are aware that everyone can’t volunteer, but you can help, us teach our children. 

 Our young people need to know the importance of respecting their elders,  classmates and themselves.  In order to reinforce these values within our children we are initiating the PTP call list.  We have parents who are able to volunteer. These parents   will observe our students in their learning environment, if we notice a child struggling to learn, being disruptive, and/or standing out as an excellent student we want to call you let you know.  That’s the way we use to watch out for our children. To be honest we all know our children sometime act one way when we are around and totally different when we are not.  We will call you and we will be honest and tell it like it is. 

 Help us prepare our young people to succeed.  Join our efforts.    We want to see all our students finish middle school, high school and go on to college. We need your help here in order for our efforts to be a success.  We need our students coming to school prepared to learn, with their books, supplies and a positive attitude.   Most of all we need you to be there when we need your support.  We’re asking you to take a positive role, become a PTP supporter by signing your child up to be on our watch and call lists.  We truly believe if children see that you care, they will try their best to succeed.
